Introduction: Walls Construction, operating in Dublin 8, sought the expertise of Alpine Security in 2019 to enhance the security and management of their extensive construction site. Covering an impressive 96,000 square meters, the site was set to comprise over 543 units of residential and commercial properties upon completion. The primary focus was to ensure the site’s security and safety throughout the construction process.

CCTV Monitoring: Alpine Security implemented an extensive CCTV monitoring system, deploying over 20 cameras strategically positioned throughout the site. These cameras were under constant vigilance by our control room staff, ensuring that any potential security breaches or incidents were immediately addressed. The cameras were accessible through the Hikvision app and backed up to a local DVR and cloud storage, with internal memory to safeguard against power outages, ensuring uninterrupted recording capabilities.

Alarm Response: To address out-of-hours activations, Alpine Security had a swift and efficient response system in place. Our mobile patrol vehicle or deployed local officers promptly attended the site, restoring security by removing trespassers or validating legitimate access. The high visibility of our patrol vehicles, bearing our logo, provided a strong deterrent. Our licensed security operators, with extensive experience, effectively handled any breaches, minimizing risks to our client’s operations.

Manned Guarding: Our security officers are trained, licensed, and equipped with the latest technology and equipment. They remained vigilant and alert on the construction site, prioritizing health and safety. In line with our client’s zero-accidents policy, our officers are quick to identify potential hazards and address knowledge gaps, contributing to an accident-free work environment.

Turnstiles: Alpine Security introduced an advanced turnstile system that integrated with a cloud server. This system stored employee facial recognition and health and safety records, which could be uploaded by the principal contractor’s staff. We provided thorough training on the turnstile operation to ensure seamless implementation. The biometrics are collected using Facial Recognition Scanners, the recommended method, although access cards or RFID solutions are also available.

The turnstile system was programmed to automatically deny access if an employee’s Safepass or manual handling certification had expired. This compliance measure aligned with all construction health and safety legislation, guaranteeing that only trained and certified personnel had access to the site. Monitoring and reporting on this compliance were conducted by the health and safety staff.

Conclusion: Alpine Security’s comprehensive security solutions, include CCTV monitoring, alarm response, manned guarding, and turnstile systems, ensured that Walls Construction’s vast construction site remained secure and in compliance with health and safety regulations. The proactive approach and cutting-edge technology implemented by Alpine Security contribute to the safety and efficiency of the construction project, aligning with the client’s commitment to a zero-accidents policy.
